Overview:
The Employee Relations Specialists supports specific functions within a company; they work closely with management and employees “on the front line,” providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues: talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, and conflict management. The Employee Relations Specialist plays an essential role in establishing and driving HR programs/talent initiatives forward within specific company functions, while always ensuring they align with a company’s business objectives.

Employee Support & Conflict Resolution
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and leaders with workplace concerns or interpersonal issues.
- Facilitate conflict resolution between employees and/or management through mediation, coaching, and communication strategies.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on handling sensitive workplace situations with professionalism and care.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into complaints.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
Case Management & Documentation
- Track and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance issues.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and records of investigations, outcomes, and communications.
- Prepare detailed summaries and reports for HR leadership when necessary.
- Interpret and enforce company policies and employee handbook guidelines consistently.
- Provide guidance to managers on policy application and progressive discipline.
- Recommend policy updates or changes based on trends, feedback, or legal requirements.
Communication & Training
- Working with the VP of Human Resources, design and deliver training on workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and company policies.
- Promote awareness and understanding of HR policies and employee resources.
- Support internal communication efforts around culture, engagement, and values.
Culture & Engagement
- Advocate for a respectful, inclusive, and high trust work environment.
- Support engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and feedback channels.
- Monitor employee sentiment and help drive strategies to enhance morale and retention.
Required Qualifications:
- Must embody and promote Pavlov’s core values.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Excellent project & time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; ADP is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience resolving employee relations issues preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is: $60,000 – 80,000.
Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate’s primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization. The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
