Summary:

This is an onsite position located in Champaign, IL. 

At Pavlov Media, we rely on a meticulous ERP system to drive business forward. Our accounts receivable department keeps the accounting system running smoothly by managing cash influx and collecting payment from clients. This position will collaboratively participate in efforts to create process efficiencies, process improvements and integration. We are looking for a Staff Accountant who will foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, and forward thinking. The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Optimize financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts.
  • Create a positive, high quality customer service experience to all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts receivable process by collaborating interdepartmentally and with other internal teams to identify areas of performance improvement.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders. 
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivable and past-due accounts by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail.
  • Process automation and integrate efforts related to ERP. 
  • Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates.
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements.
  • Primary contact for Fiber to the Home, acting as a liaison between customer activities and software development teams, to ensure timely and accurate processing of customer invoices and payments.
  • Manage inbound invoices from external field resources and determine responsible party based on customer contract.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Prior experience in accounts receivable strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identify solutions.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Experience in project management and driving process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to effectively communicate, prioritize, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in accounting ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Drive.
  • Strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines with thorough follow through.
  • Acts with integrity, including handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates strong mathematical skills.

Physical Requirements :  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
