How long should I keep the markers in my yard?
Markers and paint should stay in place until construction is complete. These markers show crews where other utilities are located, helping prevent issues with water, gas, and electricity lines.
Does Pavlov Media have a right to be on my property?
In areas where fiber-optic installation is underway, Pavlov Media has an easement or legal right-of-way to work on private property, granted by a permit from the local government. We appreciate property owners’ cooperation in notifying us of any underground hazards or other concerns so we can address them promptly and avoid disruptions.
Will my yard be restored?
Our crews aim to minimize disruption to your property. Once construction is complete, Pavlov Media will restore affected lawn areas, typically within two weeks, weather permitting. Restoration generally includes:
– Adding soil to level the ground
– Seeding for new grass growth
– Laying straw and a composable mesh to secure the seed

What is an Easement or Right-of-Way?
Local governments retain the right to access parts of your property to manage utilities. Pavlov Media has permission to use these areas through easements, which are permanent and transfer with property ownership. Easements allow us to install fiber for high-speed internet without owning the land. A right-of-way is a specific type of easement used to lay utilities, like fiber-optic cables, that serve the public.
What about my sprinklers, dog fence, or sump pump?
If you have a sprinkler system, dog fence, sump pump, or any other underground items, please notify us before construction. These can be marked with pink landscape-safe paint or flags to ensure they are protected.

Overview of the Construction Process
Pavlov Media’s fiber installation generally follows a structured process. Here’s a brief overview:
1. Permitting
Local or state agencies approve our construction plans, which may involve obtaining multiple permits. This process can take from a few days to a few months.
2. Underground Installation
After permits are in place, we install conduits for fiber cables underground using specialized equipment. This includes adding hand holes for technicians to access the network.
3. Cable Pulling
With underground work complete, our team pulls fiber-optic cable through the conduits, preparing it for splicing and future access.
4. Splicing
Skilled technicians connect cables to ensure network continuity. This step is critical to establishing a reliable, high-speed internet backbone.
5. Network Activation
Once construction is finished, our engineers set up electronics to make the fiber network operational. This step readies the backbone for customer access.
6. Ready for Installation
After completing the network, Pavlov Media’s installation team will be ready to bring fiber-optic internet directly to your home or business.
