VP of OSP Construction

The VP of OSP Construction primary responsibility is to ensure organizational effectiveness by providing leadership within the construction business unit. This role will work closely with all internal teams to ensure design and to build quality networks.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP of OSP Construction primary responsibility is to ensure organizational effectiveness by providing leadership within the construction business unit.  This role will work closely with all internal teams to ensure design and to build quality networks.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

Leadership

  • Achieve the Yearly Goals on OSP construction. (Passings, Footages, City Completions)
  • Find and Negotiate with Contractors, Engineering firms
  • Recruit local talent (Construction Managers, Leads etc.)          in key markets
  • Develop and execute training programs for all tiers of construction resources
  • Function as an escalation point for any build issues encountered by construction teams
  • Run weekly contractor/staff meetings
  • Approve Contractors
  • Compile weekly labor forecasting reports
  • Compile budget to actual reports

Customer Service

  • Ensure that build quality meets Pavlov Media/CCG standards
  • Participate in customer meetings and conference calls as needed
  • Act as a liaison with Cities and project staff to properly identify and process scope changes, address issues, communicate regarding project milestones, etc.

Project Management

  • Interface directly with Project Management staff to provide detailed site build progress
  • Meet build milestone schedules on each construction site
  • Meet all agreed on deployment contract turnup dates for student apartments

Technical Ability

  • Utilize and develop workflows within an existing ERP system
  • Interpret BOM’s and assemblies
  • Proficiently read, understand, reference, and utilize project construction plans and documents generated by architects, consultants, and Pavlov Media
  • Understand architectural and engineering diagrams, drafts, tables, flow-charts, charts, equipment lists and other visual information and documentation
  • Evaluate and purchase equipment as needed for construction teams
  • Create conduit, pull, and splice maps in a time effective manner
  • Travel to any site as needed to assist with outside cable pathway work, Central Office/Cabinets and electronics installation and startup/commissioning

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AND POSITIVES:

  • Experience with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Experience with Intellibid is considered a plus.
  • Four-year degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Construction or Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project and/or Construction Management, and other engineering related fields.  An MBA is strongly desired.
  • Experience: At least four years of successful deployment experience in electrical, LVC, fiber installations, and/or construction management.
  • Actual field experience may be considered equivalent to and possibly more important than formal education.
