Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Accountant reports to the VP of Finance as part of the Finance Team.  The Senior Accountant is responsible for creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, multi-state sales and use tax, auditing, budgeting, inventory control, job costing, and fixed assets.  The successful candidate will be eager to learn new systems, work with multiple teams to develop and/or streamline processes, have exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills as well as being proficient in Excel or Power Bi.  As a member of a team, this person will adhere to schedules and deadlines to ensure that all financial information is reported on in a prompt and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Verify the accuracy of accounting documents
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledger and other records dealing with finance business transactions
  • Data entry using defined computer programs
  • Reconcile records with internal employees, management, vendors and/or customers
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Support A/R and A/P processing
  • Support the activities of the department

Experience Requirements and Positives:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting required
  • CPA Preferred
  • 3-5 years work experience required
  • Public accounting experience desired but not required
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook – Excel skills are a must
