Facilities & Safety Manager

We are looking for an experienced Facilities & Safety Manager to oversee all building and grounds maintenance and related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Facilities & Safety Manager to oversee all building and grounds maintenance and related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspect & maintain buildings’ structures & grounds, ensuring multi-stie facilities are fully operational with all utilities functioning properly
- Schedule and monitor maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing building equipment
- Manages and reviews service contracts
- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections
- Checks completed work by vendors and contractors
- Supervise janitorial staff
- Maintain grounds, including snow removal and lawn maintenance
- Maintain stock levels and parts within budget
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, assisting with energy management
- Oversee security of buildings and grounds
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, clients, and team
- Create and implement plans and procedures for workplace health and safety
- Conduct routine risk assessment, following legal guidelines
- Inspect equipment and maintain inspection logs
- Monitor employee & workplace safety, conforming to laws and best practices
- Investigate & document accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures for further incidents
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff in an environment with a variety of building types (administrative offices, material warehouses, and retail offices)
- Experience developing and managing budgets
- Experience managing service contracts
- Demonstrated experience planning, developing, and implementing facility improvement programs
- Ability to interpret planning specifications, documents, working drawings, and related reports
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline and / or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of EPA / OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
- Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter
- Certification in risk management, facility management, OSHA, and/or health/safety management preferr
