ERP Engineer

Pavlov Media leverages the OpenERP/Odoo open-source software for integrated management of its main business processes. The ERP Engineer will have strong Python and PostgreSQL database development skills. This position will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, will be organized and results-oriented, and understand business processes from a broad perspective including Finance, Field Service, Manufacturing, and Helpdesk support. Their main responsibility will be to ensure that the ERP software meets the company’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, adapt, test, and implement features and reports in the ERP software requiring Python code changes.
  • Determine the software requirements through discussion with users and management.
  • Evaluate the time required to complete bug and feature requests to help prioritize them.
  • Ensure code changes are tracked using git.
  • Drive a consistent code release cadence that accounts for Pavlov Media’s operational schedule.
  • Ensure database schema is structured to optimize query response time.
  • Identify and propose other strategies for database performance optimization.
  • Participate in selected interdepartmental meetings, conferences, conference calls, and  planning.
  • Report on a regular basis on tasks completed and in progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR 4 years related experience.
  • Must have experience with Python and PostgreSQL.
  • Must have a working knowledge of CRM/ERP processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Desired Skills:

  • Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identify solutions.
  • Experience in the Telecommunication industry is a plus.
  • OpenERP (Odoo) software development experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with Git revision control and Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database administration or code development.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, MySQL, Linux, or Docker.
  • Strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines with thorough follow through
  • Experience with building dashboards and database administration skills including PostgreSQL and query writing.
  • Experience in installing and configuring software and servers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to effectively communicate, prioritize, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to easily adapt to changes in processes, procedures, and priority.
