The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing oversight of the company’s environmental, health, & safety strategy and culture.
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing oversight of the company’s environmental, health, & safety strategy and culture.
EHS responsibilities:
- Develop & implement policies, procedures, and programs through collaboration with Senior Leadership
- Identify and manage risks associated with its operational activities
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders, including presenting Safety and Sustainability Reports and relevant data to the Board (KPIs)
- Provide support, guidance, and training on EHS processes & best practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
Experience and qualifications
- Ten [10] years of combined safety and sustainability experience, ideally within a business involving construction and managing contractors
- Experience conducting safety and sustainability audits and driving change management policies/practices
- Knowledge of current safety and sustainability policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred
Other skills
- Self-starter and pro-active cross-functional collaborative leader
- Proven skill in balancing critical safety and sustainability issues with operational concerns
- Experience with DOT/FMCSA preferred
- Knowledge of EPA/OSA regulations preferred
