The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing oversight of the company’s environmental, health, & safety strategy and culture.

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing oversight of the company’s environmental, health, & safety strategy and culture.

EHS responsibilities:

  • Develop & implement policies, procedures, and programs through collaboration with Senior Leadership 
  • Identify and manage risks associated with its operational activities
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders, including presenting Safety and Sustainability Reports and relevant data to the Board (KPIs) 
  • Provide support, guidance, and training on EHS processes & best practices 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

Experience and qualifications

  • Ten [10] years of combined safety and sustainability experience, ideally within a business involving construction and managing contractors 
  • Experience conducting safety and sustainability audits and driving change management policies/practices 
  • Knowledge of current safety and sustainability policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred

Other skills

  • Self-starter and pro-active cross-functional collaborative leader
  • Proven skill in balancing critical safety and sustainability issues with operational concerns
  • Experience with DOT/FMCSA preferred
  • Knowledge of EPA/OSA regulations preferred
