Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities
- Control the accounting and financial [risk, legal and information technology] functions of the Company
- Own the Company’s control environment, including treasury functions
- Provide financial planning and related ongoing advice for the CEO, President and executive team to assist in informed operational performance management, commercial deal-making and business planning
- Produce clear and timely financial reports to monitor the financial and operation performance of the Company
- Contribute to the executive team through continuous improvement of the business, including promoting changes outside the parameters of the financial function
- Evaluate proposed strategic priorities and challenge the rationale and financial impact on the Company
- Formulate financial targets and budgets to support the vision and strategic priorities set by the CEO, President and the Board
- Manage the Company’s policies regarding capital requirements, debt, tax and distributions
- Coordinate annual audits and alert the CEO, President, Board and owners to any material irregularity, lack of compliance regarding financial systems, the financial operations, financial plans and other matters that could have a financial, reputational or regulatory implication for the Company
- Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding the Company’s financial affairs
- Analyze macroeconomic information, industry and financial conditions and their prospective impact on the Company
- Ensure the firm’s financial systems meet the needs of the Company, and delivers a dynamic and flexible reporting environment that evolves with the Company
- Manage a strong and have develop a transparent interface with the Company’s board and shareholders
- Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions with the aim of ensuring that Company’s funding arrangements and relationships are secure
- Build and maintain a high-performing team capable of executing the Company’s strategic and financial priorities.
