Accounting Intern
The Accounting Intern is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Finance. The Accounting Intern performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department. This position is part-time with flexible hours, but a consistent schedule Monday through Friday is preferred. Additional hours available during the summer months, if desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing finance business transactions
- Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs
- Reconcile records with internal company employees, vendors, management or customers
- Bank reconciliations, credit card transaction entries
- Customer collections
- Stuffing, stamping, and prepping mail for check runs, invoices, etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Experience in accounting related fields
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Great Plains experience a bonus but not necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
