Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Finance. The Accounting Intern performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department. This position is part-time with flexible hours, but a consistent schedule Monday through Friday is preferred. Additional hours available during the summer months, if desired.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing finance business transactions
  • Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs
  • Reconcile records with internal company employees, vendors, management or customers
  • Bank reconciliations, credit card transaction entries
  • Customer collections
  • Stuffing, stamping, and prepping mail for check runs, invoices, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Experience in accounting related fields
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Great Plains experience a bonus but not necessary

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
